FEBRUARY 14, 2001
SAN LORENZO
San Lorenzo has been awarded $40,000 from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Transportation for Livable Communities program. The program supports planning and development of projects that promote public transportation and pedestrian circulation.
The San Lorenzo grant, along with a contribution of $10,000 from Alameda County, will be used to develop particular transportation and pedestrian amenities as part of the San Lorenzo Specific Plan.
Five other Bay Area communities received similar grants -- Oakland, San Francisco, Morgan Hill, Santa Clara, and Vallejo.
