Special community meeting — Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss possible development of an area immediately next to the historic Meek Mansion. The mansion, built in 1870 by William Meek, sits within the original Meek estate between the San Lorenzo Creek and Hampton Road. For details see Meek Estate Alert. Historic Preservation Ordinance — The Alameda County Parks, Recreation and Historical Commission is drafting an historical preservation ordinance that will apply to unincorporated areas of the county. It is also completing an inventory of historic sites and structures in the unincorporated portion of Eden Township. See Calendar for announcements of commission meetings. (Current September 2009)
